It isn't summer yet?

We had a lovely snow day last Monday. It was wet heavy snow, perfect snowball material. Unfortunately, we had to be grown ups that day. I had to go to work, and Jim had to be the responsible adult. It wasn't a nor'easter but there was enough snow on the ground for Jim to bring out the snow blower.
Evan got his warm down jacket on and wanted to help. His hand are a little too big for his mittens so we kept stuffing it back into the sleeves of his jacket. I left him on his own in the snow while I went over to see if Jim could use some help. Bewildered by the snow, he did not budge from his spot. However, he was highly dissappointed when his help wasn't necessary and had to be dragged back indoors.

Playtime with Daddy

In the evenings, we put out a blanket on the floor so that Evan can settle down and hopefully get sleepy. Jim lay down, hoping Evan would lie down too.

Well, Evan had other plans. He thought Daddy
was playing with him.

And thought he could have a thrown down with Daddy. Daddy even got a tiny foot in his mouth at one point.

He did settle down, finally.

What I do at home

Every morning I get up, wrestle with Mommy whenever she tries to change my overnight diapers, reach into my crib and pull out my blue blanket. Together we check out the house, making sure nothing has changed since I went to bed last night. Also, I make sure Patty has enough to eat. And even if she has, I make sure I add another can of food in her bowl. Just to be safe...

After my tubby, I like to rest on the couch and watch some tv. Or climb the couch looking for pennies under the cushions or tape on the coffee table.

He's a fan....

Jim is especially proud that Evan found his little Red Sox hat and put it on, on his own. Here's Evan proudly showing off his winning cap.

My Crib...

Patty-Kat has a habit of sneaking into Evan's crib to take her cat naps. We continue to throw her out of his room and she always finds a way back in. That is, until we put Evan in his crib with her. He was delighted that Patty was going to keep him company as he naps. He giggled, he squealed and tried to share Mama Bear with Patty.

Patty didn't mind the giggles or being squished by a teddy bear and refused to give up her cozy corner.

But when he decided to give her a great big hug and drool, she had enough....

Christmas Eve

Jim had to work Christmas Day so we ended up staying in Connecticut for the holidays. Since Gramma and Papa were heading up north for Christmas with the Bordwells, we had had a small get together at home on Christmas Eve. Dressed in his festive t-shirt, Evan entertained his grandparents all evening with his grins and happy jabbering.

He especially liked to lean on Papa's fuzzy head.

Or whack it like a drum.

He also got his xylophone for Christmas. Gramma showed him how to play it. Everyone else took turns learning how to play a color-coded Are You Sleeping.

Our Christmas tree

Once the tree was up and the lights and ornaments were hung Evan went over to check things out. Our living room was divided to Evan and non-Evan area (TV, trees, presents etc)

he liked the silver bells that rang and anything else that he could get his hands on.

However, he didn't trust Pooh very much. Anyone that smiles all the time can't be normal....

Evan's first Christmas tree hunt

We went up to Burlington/ Harwinton to Dumas Christmas Tree Farm for our tree. It was Evan's first muddy knees experience. He did not want to be carried and insisted on helping Dadddy pick out a tree. The farm owner was amused and Evan got his first candy cane.
